AGRICULTURE is set to be the theme for the 61st Well Dressing Festival to be held in Wormhill from August 25 to September 2.
There will be a display in the church with a seasonal agricultural theme and also a smaller well dressing will be in the churchyard dressed by the younger members of the community.
The main well will be dressed at Hargate Wall Farm with work starting from Tuesday, August 21. The well dressing will be floodlit each evening from August 25.
Graham Hinds, the agricultural chaplin, will lead the service to bless the well and guest speaker will be Tony Favell, Chairman of the Peak District National Park Authority.
Fairfield Band will be playing from 6.45pm on the village green and refreshments will be served at the Village Hall after the blessing service.
A Quiz night and supper will be held from 8.30pm on August 25 at the Village Hall, tickets available from Angie Taylor 01298 871907.
On August 29 the Village Hall will host a Whist Drive from 8pm, £2 including supper.
