A DISLEY youngster has won a national competition for a Family Festival in the village hosted by Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

A video of six-year-old William Hampson secured the most votes in a Persil competition.

Parents were encouraged to upload photos and videos of their kids getting messy with music and the best eight were put through to a hotly-contested public vote.

Mum Alison said: “It is a really amazing prize , it is fantastic and we are really looking forward to it.”

The family are very grateful to support from the local community, including the primary school and the parish council, and family and friends in getting people to vote.

“Disley is a nice community, a nice village anyway but this has brought the whole community together,” said Alison.

Now 150 invited guests will enjoy a Mosh and Wash Family Festival hosted by mum-of-three Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who will be perform her best-selling hit Murder on the Dancefloor.
