Why it pays to shop locally

A GLOSSOP woman proved it pays to shop local when she won a hamper of goods donated by market traders.

Patricia Yates, of Leicester Drive, came up trumps in a prize draw organised by High Peak Borough Council to mark the first birthday of Glossop’s successful Local Produce Market.

“The produce market is fantastic as it allows me to buy fresh goods and support local producers,” she enthused.

October’s market was the tenth of 12 lined up by the council this year, the last two taking place on November 12 and December 10.
