A football-mad Buxton youngster’s dream came true last week when he competed in a football match.
Corey Ryder, who is wheelchair- dependent, and his friends took part in the event during a visit of the Wheelchair Fooball Federation to Buxton Community School.
The coaches brought with them a range of equipment including electric wheelchairs for all players to use, which included visitors from other schools and a representative from Buxton FC. The non-wheelchair users through a series of tests to make sure they could manoeuvre the electric wheelchair before the game.
Corey’s mum, Caroline, thanked the school and coaches: “They have really gone the extra mile to make his dream of playing a proper match come true. He had a whale of a time.”
