Twelve-year-old Annabel Wilde has been chosen as the 2012 Whaley Bridge Rose Queen during an event at Whaley Bridge Bowling Club last month.

Annabel, who recently moved to Whaley Bridge, attends Chapel-en-le-Frith High School and has relatives who in past years have been involved in Kettleshulme and Hayfield royalty.

Carys Fox, eight, will be this year’s Princess. Carys was born in America, and with her twin sister attends Taxal and Fernilee Primary School.

Both girls were presented with their elect sashes by the present Junior Queen Alice Bell, who will be helping the pair step into their new roles before hanging up her tiara on Carnival Day after seven years in the royalty.

The selection event was followed by the annual Court of Queens, which was well attended by visiting royalty. Organisers would like to thank all those who attended and supported this event.
