A weekend walk in Castleton ended in a unique proposal on Saturday, as a Glossop policeman enlisted the help of 36 of his friends and family to pop the question.
When 25-year-old Katie Quinlan reached the edge at Cave Dale to admire the view, she was greeted with the sight of loved ones spelling out “Marry me?” by lying on the ground below.
Boyfriend Patrick “Patch” Haley, 29, took to one knee to ask for her hand in marriage, punching the air when she accepted.
The small crowd erupted in cheers.
The PCSO, of Simmondley, said: “She didn’t expect anything it was a complete surprise. I just wanted to do something special that wasn’t the norm. Luckily she said yes.”
