A WASP has been blamed for a road accident in Buxton which left a 75-year-old motorist trapped in her car.
The red Susuki Jimny ended up six feet down an embankment and hit a tree following the incident on Saturday afternoon at about 12.20pm.
The female driver, who suffered chest injuries in the collision, was released by firefighters who also had to prevent the vehicle from dropping any further down the embankment on Lightwood Road.
A police spokeswoman said the driver had been trying to get rid of a wasp that had flown into her vehicle through an open window when the accident happened.
The road was re-opened at 2.35pm.
