A charity which supports victims of domestic abuse in the High Peak has been helped by a supermarket’s customers.
Waitrose Buxton has presented a cheque for £494.63 to Crossroads Derbyshire. The charity has a refuge for young women under 24 and works with women who are trying to get away from abusive partners .
Crossroads Derbyshire provide life saving support to more than 500 families annually.
The cheque represented proceeds of the supermarket chain’s Community Matters scheme in which shoppers place a token in the box of the good cause they most like to support. The more tokens a box receives, the bigger the donation is.
