Kind–hearted High Peak people are being asked to give up their time to help others.

New Mills Volunteer Centre, in Union Road, is looking for people to take part in the Volunteer Friends project.

The four–year project was recently awarded £98,307 from the Big Lottery Fund and will provide a telephone befriending service for isolated members of the community and training on computers.

The project will begin on October 1 and anyone interested in helping out, or registering as a client, is asked to contact Ed or Adele by calling 01663 744196 or by emailing mail@nmvc.demon.co.uk
