Villager Jim’s sadness after treasured cockerel goes missing

One of Derbyshire’s most popular photographers has been left devastated after his cockerel went missing.

Villager Jim – famed for capturing breathtaking snaps in the Peak District – fears his treasured bird, Ricky, may have been stolen.

The cockerel features in many of Jim’s pictures.

Jim, of Foolow, said: “My wife opened up the shed on Saturday morning and he wasn’t there.

“Of course it’s possible a fox has taken him – but after spending the whole of Saturday checking every square foot of my farm, there wasn’t even a feather.

“Maybe someone has taken him?

“I’m devastated he’s no longer with us – he was such a major part of our family for seven-and-a-half years.”
