The High Peak Emergency Services Day last Sunday was said to be a ‘wonderful occasion’.
The event was held at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, and comprised of all areas of the emergency services coming together to raise awareness to the public.
Bill Weston, Co-ordinator of the event, said: “It was very much a success.
“The weather was kind to us and families turned out in their numbers to be part of the occasion.
“The biggest success of the day was that the people were genuinely interested, and they hung around to listen to what was being said.

The annual event has been running for 18 years, of which Bill has been a part of them for 15 years - and he believes the event is gaining in stature year on year.
He said: “I’ve played most roles in the event over the years, from overseeing certain parts, to being secretary, and now I’m the co-ordinator.
“I’m retired now so I have the time to do these things, and it’s great to be able to help out in any way that I can.
“The event is improving every year, and we continue to add new things.
“I hope that next year will prove to be even better once again.”
