Vandals puncture car tyres with screws

Officers from the Hadfield Safer Neighbourhood Team are appealing for information after tyres were punctured on a car in the town.

Sometime between 8am, on Monday, December 5, and 8am the following morning, vandals placed screws into the front and rear passenger tyres of a blue Vauxhall Corsa which was parked along Hadfield Road.

PCSO Brian Buller from the town’s Safer Neighbourhood team said: “This may have seemed like a foolish prank to those involved but it is a very serious thing to do and could have resulted in the driver or passengers being injured.

“Thankfully nobody was hurt but I would ask those responsible to think about the possible consequences and to come forward.”
