A small section of the conservatory at Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens has been closed temporarily to allow for important planned maintenance work to take place.
Ongoing monitoring of the condition of the buildings has identified work is required to some of the timber in the East Pavilion resulting in the closure of a section of the Conservatory at the Opera House end of the building under the apex roof.
High Peak Borough Councillor Tony Kemp, Executive Councillor with responsibility for the Pavilion Gardens, said: “We’ve temporarily closed this section of the conservatory to ensure the safety of members of the public and staff whilst this essential planned maintenance work is carried out.
“The remainder of the Conservatory and the Gardens remains open. It’s just a small area that is out of action.”
Timescales for the work are currently being established and the council says it will keep the public informed.
