HIGH Peak fundraisers have been busy raising cash for the charity Help For Heroes.
A group of fundraisers spent two days at Tesco in Whaley Bridge with a hospital bed that has been converted for use in charity bed pushes. They collected £1,294.91 for the charity.
The bed was donated by a local hospital and has been adapted by air ambulance paramedic Tim Earnshaw and sponsored by HGV Direct, Hazelcroft Garage, High Peak Signs, Leander Architectural and Otter Controls and transported by staff at New Bodies Gyms and AB and Sons in Peakdale. It will be used in a variety of events around the area.
The scheme was the brainchild of local man Rob Davies as a way of raising money for various charities including the Royal Marine Charitable Trust in memory of fallen Buxton Marine Scott Taylor, who was killed in Afghanistan last year.
The bed will be seen getting pushed round this weekend’s Buxton carnival.
