Two injured in Glossop crash

Two teenagers remain in a serious condition after a car crash on the A57 Snake Pass between Glossop and Bamford on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at about 10.30am near Hagg Farm, when the blue Ford Fiesta that they were travelling in towards Ladybower left the offside of the road and collided heavily with a mature pine tree down an embankment.

The driver and front seat passenger were uninjured but two 17-year -olds, who were rear seat passengers, suffered serious injuries.

They were taken to the Northern General Hospital but are now being treated in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. The road was closed until 4.50pm.
