Trust on board for Glossop halls plans
High Peak Borough Council have selected the Glossopdale Trust to help them secure the future of the town hall complex, which includes Glossop Town Hall, the market hall and the municipal buildings.
The authority is also in talks with Derbyshire County Council about renovating Victoria Hall, on Talbot Street, which houses the library.

Hide AdDuncan Wright, chairman of the trust, said: “Our vision is that these buildings return to being a cultural and commercial centre for Glossop, owned and managed by and for the benefit of the community of Glossopdale now and into the future.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with the councils, and on behalf of the Glossopdale community to make this vision a reality.”
The latest stage in the renovation is the assessment of the condition of the four halls by specialist consultants, the results of which will be released in September.
