A MAN who has helped shape Disley’s future is one of three people to receive a prestigious local accolade.
Joe Casey, Peter Scott and Margaret Duddy OBE are the latest recipients of Disley Parish Council’s civic award, which recognises those who make a special contribution to village life.
Joe, of Stanley Hall Lane, was presented with his award in recognition of his work as chairman of the Disley Parish Plan Steering Group.
“Many hard-working people were involved in this task and therefore I like to think they are sharing this award with me,” said Joe, who is also Disley Probus Club’s programme secretary.
“It is pleasing to have one’s efforts recognised by the parish council, and I thank them sincerely for the award.”
Peter Scott received his award in recognition of his services to wells dressing in the village, and Margaret Duddy for her 50 years of service to local government.
