HIGH PEAK community groups have just two more chances to bid for a share of Derbyshire County Council’s £250,000 Community Action Grant fund.
The authority introduced the Big Society grants last June with a £250,000 funding pot available for small not-for-profit groups and organisations to support their work to help build strong and flourishing communities.
Successful bids will include activities or projects that allow local people to improve life locally. They must also support the council’s key social, economic and environmental priorities. Grants could, for example, pay for: local events and activities for teenagers; street and community improvement grants; play equipment; care, support or activity groups for older people.
The deadline for the sixth round is Friday October 26 with the final round on Friday December 14. For more information see www.derbyshire.gov.uk/cag.
