Three seriously injured after crash involving car and motorcycle in Chapel-en-le-Frith

Three people are being treated for serious injuries following an accident involving a car and a motorcycle.

Police and air ambulances were called to the site of the road traffic collision on Sheffield Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith, at around 1pm on Thursday, July 23.

A Ford Fiesta and Yamaha 600cc motorcycle collided at the bottom of the exit slip road onto Sheffield Road.

The 79-year-old driver of the car and a female passenger were both taken to Northern General Hospital and the 22-year-old motorcyclist was taken for hospital treatment in Stoke.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire police said: “The 79-year-old driver of the Fiesta sustained very serious injuries, as did the 22-year-old rider of the motorcycle. Both are in a critical condition.

“The female passenger also sustained serious injuries.”
