Supermarket and council chiefs have apologised for inconvenience caused to local shops due to a road closure.
Traders in Station Road, Hadfield, have been suffering following the closure of Kiln Lane at the Station Road junction as supermarket giant Tesco prepares its new store in the former Masons Arms pub.
A spokesman for Tesco said: “We are sorry that the temporary road closures have caused disruption and difficulty for the local community.
“We will continue to work with local residents and local businesses to keep them updated on the progress of our new store.”
A spokesman for Derbyshire County Council apologised for the inconvenience caused, adding that the road is due to reopen after August 30, when work is complete.
