Teenagers rescued after 30ft fall in Peak District

TWO TEENAGERS have been rescued after falling around 30 feet at a Peak District beauty spot.

The boys, both aged 15, injured themselves while climbing a rock at Five Clouds on The Roaches this morning (Thursday).

A Community Paramedic attended the scene, along with an ambulance crew and the Midlands Air Ambulance.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “It appears both boys were climbing a rock when they fell. It is thought they fell approximately 30 feet.

“One of the boys had head, chest and wrist injuries. A pelvic splint was applied and he was immobilised before being flown to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

“The other boy had a fractured ankle. He was also immobilised and was taken by land ambulance to the same hospital.”
