A unique afternoon of fun for children and their teddies is planned as part of a heritage event at the historic St James’ Church, Taxal.
Today and tomorrow, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 from 2pm-4pm, children will be invited to hand over their teddies which will then be attached to a parachute, then taken to the 50ft tower to be floated back to earth and their eager owners.
The church will be open from 1pm-4pm when there will be displays of heritage items from the church, including a St James Bible. Teas available.
On Sunday, the Sunday Strollers will take a two hour walk though the Goyt Valley, led by David Frith.
