Tarmac director Viv Russell took a walk in Grinlow Woods’ Site of Special Scientific Interest recently to see path restoration works being carried out by Buxton Civic Association.

The paths, near Poole’s Cavern, are being relaid with stone and materials generously supplied by Tarmac.

Association chairman Mike Monaghan said: “The support we have had from Tarmac has enabled us to make considerable improvements and work quickly.

“The work is vital to improve accessibility to the woods and protect key areas from erosion and damage.”
