A GIANT beanstalk was one of most striking exhibits enjoyed as part of Earl Sterndale’s 24th Flower Festival.
The popular event this year saw a number of colourful displays created around the theme of books.
As well as Jack and Beanstalk, the tales of Beatrix Potter, the Secret Garden, Wind in the Willows, Winnie the Pooh and Alice in Wonderland together with Around the World in 80 Days provided the inspiration for the displays throughout the church.
A team of flower arrangers from the village created the designs.
The homemade refreshments, made by local residents, proved to be very popular with those who visited the church during the festival which was held over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The money raised by the event will go to church funds and will help pay for the recent installation of new lighting and ongoing maintenance of the building.
All donations gratefully received.
