Survivors aid crash rescuers

Three Hayfield men who were involved in a serious road accident last year have organised a week of charity fund-raising events as a thank-you to the rescue teams who helped them.

Friends Simon Derbyshire, Tom Morgan and David Dunkerley and The Royal Hotel are to put on range of events between September 26 and 30.

The trio said: “We were all involved in a serious car crash last August and thanks to the professionalism, help and care given by the First Responders and The Air Ambulance team we are now here today and we would like to say thank you to them all.”

They are supporting the Emergency First Response, Derbyshire Leicestershire Rutland Air Ambulance and Cure Cystic Fibrosis.

On Wednesday 26, Cavendish Bridal House will be presenting a Cavendish Carnival Fashion Show. The event, which will include a charity raffle, will be held in the Marquee from 6.30pm till 9pm.

Macclesfield Silk Brass Band will perform at a Charity Concert on Thursday 27 from 7.30pm till 10.30pm. Tickets priced at £7.50 are available in advance, or £9 on the door.

On Saturday, September 29, a Casino Royale-themed Charity Ball will be held with a charity auction, casino tables and three-course gourmet buffet dinner. Tickets £45

Rounding off the events will be Hayfield Farmers Market Craft Fair from 10am-4pm, on Sunday 30. Free admission.
