DERBYSHIRE Police are urging High Peak drivers to be more vigilant as the school summer holidays get under way.
Officers are urging motorists to be more vigilant on the roads as the number of young pedestrians hurt increases in the summer and are also reminding drivers of the laws around using seatbelts.
The warnings come after figures revealed more youngsters are injured in collisions during the summer months. Children younger than 12 (or under 135cm tall) should use a seatbelt together with a baby seat, car seat or booster cushion.
Youngsters over this age or height may use a belt without an additional seat.
