Students to get Big Vote

Have your say

YOUNG people aged 11 to 18 are preparing for power as the ‘Big Vote’ election period begins to decide the next members of the Derbyshire Youth Council.

The election, run by Derbyshire County Council, is open to students from secondary and special schools, along with colleges in the county.

There will also be a young person elected to represent ‘looked- after’ children.

Youth council members get involved with decision-making and have their say about issues affecting young people.

Students can nominate themselves until February 10.

Voting will take place between March 19 and 23 with the results announced at County Hall, Matlock, on March 29.
