Around 120 students and 25 staff from Chapel-en-le-Frith High School put their best feet forward in the school’s annual year ten sponsored walk to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The students walked ten kilometre around the Combs Valley and are hoping to raise more than the £2,600 which was presented to the trust by their predecessors last year.

Organising teacher Mark Jones, head of house at the school, said: “Young people get a really bad press these days and are often criticised for being lazy and thoughtless. It’s great that so many of our students made the effort to take part in the sponsored walk so that they can help others.”

Money raised will be used for specialist units for young people suffering from cancer.
