Youngsters learned about how limestone was formed on a trip to a quarry.

Pupils from Earl Sterndale Primary School, in Buxton, put on their hard hats for the visit to the Lhoist UK quarry at Hindlow.

The production process was explained to them from blasting limestone rock to crushing and washing, limestone kilns and hydration.
