Clearing a public footpath took students to a total of 2,012 voluntary hours completed – meeting a pledge made by Buxton College and the University of Derby Buxton.
The 48 organisations and charities to have received help, through Project 2012 include: Age Concern, Buxton’s ‘Streetsafe’ campaign, Volunteer Bureau Buxton and High Peak Kennels.
Dr Peter Dewhurst, Dean at the University said: “Our students have shown great commitment and enthusiasm for supporting the community.”
Student Matthew Roberts, said: “Volunteering has been a fantastic experience. I just wanted to get involved and help other students and the community. Project 2012 and the Streetsafe Campaign have given me this opportunity.”
