STRICTLY Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke has helped raise more than £6,000 for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.

Anton was special guest at a dinner held at Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens on March 22 when 130 guests were given a captivating insight into his life and the behind the scenes action on the BBC1 primetime show.

The event was hosted by High Peak MP Andrew Bingham and raised a total of £6,290 for the Air Ambulance, which costs over £1.7m to keep flying and relies solely on fundraising and donations.

Mr Bingham said: “I was delighted to support and help with the event.

“The Air Ambulances are vital in the High Peak and to raise over £6,000 was a fantastic result and I know everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

“I am already discussing with the Air Ambulance another similar event next year.”

The event was supported by Emma McClarkin MEP, Bradstone UK, The Cocoon Group, Essential Print Services, CW Sellors, Indigo Sunset and Rob Bamford Photography.
