SPORTS clubs eager to discover what social media can do for them have been urged to sign up for a ground-breaking workshop.
The invitation was extended this week by High Peak Borough Council, which has teamed up with sports club consultant ForeFourSix to organise a unique training session in Buxton on Monday December 5.
Aimed at community sports clubs, the two-hour event will explain how clubs can flourish by using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.
The session will explain what social media is and how it can be used to support sports clubs. The workshop will show how to:
- Use social media safely
- Put in place the right policies
- Find the right person in your club to look after Facebook and Twitter sites.
Anthony McKeown, executive councillor for community services, said: “This will be the first time this workshop has been offered in Derbyshire, and it shows that we’re committed to offering new and innovative support to our sports clubs”.
The training will take place in Buxton Community School at 6.30pm at a cost of £25 per club. Each club can send two members.
