OVERNIGHT snow has caused chaos on the roads and public transport.

Several High Peak roads are closed and Northern Rail services have suffered some disruption and delays.

The A57 Snake Pass is shut as is the A515 Ashbourne Road, the A537 Cat and Fiddle and the A53 Leek Road.

The A623 in Sparrowpit is blocked because of a jackknifed lorry. Other roads are open but many are slow moving.

Motorists have been advised to take extra care on the roads.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service are warning High Peak residents to be extra vigilant as fire engine response times might be slower because of the road conditions.

The Transpeak bus service is operating from Dove Holes to Manchester and Bakewell to Nottingham but there is currently no service between Dove Holes and Bakewell. The 185 and 186 services are suspended and the 199 is currently operating from Dove Holes to Manchester Airport only.

Other problems which have been reported include power lines being down and fallen trees.
