A project to build a new skate park in Fairfield has been given a £500 boost, thanks to local police officers.

Members of the Buxton and Fairfield Safer Neighbourhood Team presented the cash which has been retrieved by police under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

PC Steve Blore said: “The current skate park is in a poor state and in desperate need of repair. Due to its hidden location it can attract anti-social behaviour in the area and prevents local children from using the facilities. It is great we have been able to secure funding for such a worthwhile project and I know it will make a difference and benefit the community.”
