THE British Heart Foundation (BHF) is inviting people in Derbyshire to sign up to a new adventure in 2012 by taking part in a hike, run, cycle or swim to raise money for heart patients everywhere.
Whether people want to push themselves with a new challenge, get in shape after the festive period, inspire the family to get active, or make new friends, there are over 80 inspiring events to choose from the BHF 2012 events calendar. With each event, people will be sure to have fun, get fit and raise money that will save lives.
The BHF cycling event series, supported by Santander, offers a challenge to suit all riders from family events to technical off-road rides. It also hosts the annual London to Brighton Bike Ride which takes place on June 17. The must do event covers 54 miles and riders can raise vital funds to fight the UK’s biggest killer, heart disease. New for 2012 is a night-time twist on this famous event which means night owls can join the first ever moonlit London to Brighton Night Ride in May. Those who like it rougher, tougher and more technical can join in with the London to Brighton Off-Road Ride in September.
If 2012 is the year to reach new heights, the National Three Peaks Challenge in June will be the perfect step. Climb Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike in one fantastic weekend on this exciting team challenge.
And for those looking to broaden their horizons, a BHF World Experience is just the ticket; from conquering Kilimanjaro to exploring the timeless traditions on the Vietnam to Cambodia Bike Ride.
In 2012, the BHF series of events needs to raise £10 million to help support heart patients across the country. To find out more or sign up to take part in a BHF event, visit bhf.org.uk/events or call 0845 130 8663.
