An ‘Olympicnic Celebration’ in Chapel Memorial Park raised £584.96 for Blythe House Hospice.

The afternoon of family fun included activities organised by Emma Beswick and her team from Derbyshire Village Games.

Lucy Wallace, from Cup n Cake, said: “It was a great afternoon and I would like to thank everyone who supported us, including Mac Burnham Butchers and all who gave raffle prizes.”

The hospice has also been boosted by £232 raised through a charity football match involving Derbyshire police’s ‘B’ Division.

Sergeant Darren Pope said: “We had a great day and are proud to support such a worthwhile cause. I’d like to say a big thank-you to everyone who took part and to Morrisons at Chapel, Lasting Impressions and Scentsational Perfume for their support of the raffle.”
