THE Promenade at Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens is to be transformed on Sunday, June 12 for the 14th Emergency Services Day.
The free family fun day, that has something for everyone, provides the chance to meet the emergency services, both paid and volunteer, and see them in action.
Opening at 10.30am and running through until 4.15pm, there are displays throughout the day including the fire, police and ambulance dealing with a road traffic collision.
Go along and see Buxton Mountain Rescue Team carrying out rope rescues from a scaffold tower, the Search and Rescue Dogs locating lost people or the National Park Rangers dealing with a simulated moorland fire.
There will also be static displays from the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance, British Red Cross, St John Ambulance, Whaley – Chapel Community First Responders, Derby University Uniformed Services students and Neighbourhood Watch.
There is a children’s quiz, an inter-services challenge throughout the day and a performance from the Billerettes.
