FUNDS to help pay for the extensive refurbishment of The Milnthorp Homes on Macclesfield Road in Buxton have been given a boost.

The charity has been given £471 from the Waitrose Community Matters scheme which will be used to help bring the 100-year-old homes up to 21st century standards.

Ruth Hayter, on behalf of the Milnthorp Homes charity said: “Thanks are due to Waitrose for choosing The Milnthorp Homes as one of the charities to benefit from their community fund.

“Very great thanks are also due to all those customers at Waitrose who voted for The Milnthorp Homes with their green tokens.”

The Waitrose scheme sees shoppers choose which charity they would like to support.
