POLICE in Fairfield will be helping allotment owners to boost security and reduce the risk of thefts this weekend.
Between noon and 4pm on Sunday, June 17, officers from the Fairfield Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team will be visiting the plots at Cunning Dale Allotments, off Dale Lane.
PC Graham Mason said: “Allotments can often seem vulnerable to theft and damages but plot holders can take steps to help reduce the risk of having their tools and equipment targeted.
“By visiting the allotment this weekend we have an opportunity to share important advice and tips on security, offer security marking and speak to allotment holders about any concerns they might have.”
Security marking for tools and equipment will be on offer and the team will be on hand to offer further crime prevention tips that can help make property left at the allotments safer.
