A second public meeting has been arranged to discuss the issues surrounding the Arden Quarry landfill site.
The meeting has been called by High Peak borough councillors Tony Ashton and Alan Barrow, ward councillors for the areas affected.
They are responding to concerns about the impact of the site on people and the environment.
Cllr Barrow said the two members had called the meeting to inform people what was happening and what was being done.
“The smells have improved but have not gone away. Remedial works are starting, having been agreed with the Environment Agency, and should be completed by the end of September,” he added.
The public meeting will be held on Wednesday June 20 at 6.30pm at Low Leighton Methodist Church, New Mills. Officers from the EA and managers from P Casey Enviro Ltd, who operate the site, will be present.
