Santa swaps reindeers for rails

TRAVEL by train with Father Christmas and his helpers on a special Santa Special along the Buxton line this Saturday (December 10).

On a specially decorated train, there will be a magician, festive music and the opportunity to write letters to give to Santa at Buxton Station.

The train will call at all stations on the Manchester to Buxton line at the following times: Hazel Grove, 13:13; Disley, 13:20; New Mills Newtown, 13:24; Furness Vale, 13:26; Whaley Bridge, 13:29; Chapel-en-le-Frith, 13:36; Dove Holes, 13:41; Buxton, 13:55.

Upon arrival at Buxton Station, Santa will be meeting children and giving out goody bags.

There will also be a chance to decorate baubles for the Christmas tree.

Refreshments will be available.

The event is organised by Northern Rail and the Friends of Buxton, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Whaley Bridge and Furness Vale Stations.

Normal train fares apply, children under-five travel free with an adult. Train tickets can be bought on the train.
