Runners, joggers and plodders alike are invited to lace-up their sneakers and run to raise funds for Movember.
The five kilometre run starts at Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens on November 7 and all proceeds will be donated to the men’s health charity.
Organised by Buxton and District Athletic Club as part of their monthly 5K series, all abilities of runners are invited to take part in the Must-Dash for the Moustache event.
Secretary of Buxton AC, Sheila Bradley said: “We would love to see lots of first-time runners and regulars come along to join in – it’s free, it’s friendly and it’s for everyone.
“There’ll be a few moustache-related fun things in support of Movember and we’ll raise some money for the charity through donations.
“We have also been given a couple of prizes by Northern Rail for a family of four to go anywhere for the day on their rail network.”
The 5K run is free to enter and starts at 9am and involves three laps of the lovely Pavilion Gardens footpaths.
Organisers promise the route is not hilly, is road-free and totally family-friendly.
Sheila said: “There’s no need to register for the event, just turn up on Broad Walk near the bottom of Fountain Street, Buxton, in plenty of time.” The run will be started by High Peak M. P. Andrew Bingham.
The Movember foundation is the leading global organisation committed to changing the face of men’s health. Men are challenged to grow moustaches during Movember to spark conversation and raise funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems.
