A PATCH of run down space in Strines has been transformed into a community recreation complex thanks to an innovative collaboration.

The Strines Recreation Ground Charity and developers Stewart Milne Homes have worked together on a project to create a new multi-purpose sports court and children’s play area, plus a newly restored pavilion with facilities for table tennis, pool tables and air hockey in the centre of the village. New footpaths and riverside walkways have also been created.

Mandy Hatch, trustee of Strines Recreation Ground, said: “We are delighted with the improvements to the recreation area and are so excited that they can finally serve for the enjoyment of the Strines community.”
