Resolve to make 2015 the year you recycle, is the new year message to High Peak households.

High Peak Borough Council is reminding residents that much of their festive waste can be recycled.

Real Christmas trees can be chopped up ready for the green-lidded bin collections or taken to the tips in Buxton and Glossop. Trees less than 5ft tall can be left whole beside the bin on collection day.

Christmas cards and wrapping paper can be placed in the brown bin together with plastic bottles, beer cans, biscuit and chocolate tins, brandy butter and ice cream tubs, yoghurt pots, plastic food trays and even aluminium foil.

Jars, wine and champagne bottles can all be recycled in the green box.
