or the third year running school children will be working with Buxton Town team to tidy up the railings and bandstand in Pavilion Gardens.

The event is taking place on Tuesday, April 26 from 10am to 3pm and will be a joint project with eight schools.

Helen Davison, a member of the town team said: “This is a very important community event as it gives children a sense of belonging. The railings are owned by High Peak Borough Council but these children’s parents pay council tax so it is good to get them interested in the area they live in and know how important it is to keep the town tidy from a young age.”

Refreshments will be provided by Pavilion Arts Centre and Waitrose will be supplying trollies to help move the empty milk bottles that have been filled with water for cleaning.

Helen added: “The children really enjoy helping I just hope the weather is nice.”
