Bakewell Swimming Pool staff have been praised after saving a man’s life.

When 81-year-old David Berrecloth, of Rowland near Bakewell, collapsed in the main reception area of the pool on April 5, pool duty manager Lee Rathbone and colleague Dave Pryor used a defibrillator and the kiss of life to revive him.

They have been thanked for their quick thinking actions by Mr Berrecloth’s family, as he recovers in hospital.

The family sent flowers, chocolates and a card to show their appreciation for all the staff did.
