Wreaths laid during Tideswell service

Have your say

Tideswell people turned out in force on Sunday for the annual Remembrance service organised by the Parish Council and led by David Bradwell.

Readings by the Rev Frank Taylor and Dr. Roy Jackson were followed by by the poignant reading of the names of Tideswell and district men who were killed in the First and Second World Wars, and the two minutes’ silence were particularly dramatic and emotional for many in the crowd.

Parish Council Vice Chairman Paul Flint gave the Council’s Address.

All the Tideswell organisations were represented and wreaths were also laid by the Order of Oddfellows, who had 500 Tideswell members during WW1.
