Conservative Cllr John Faulkner said: “David had fulfilled practically every role in this council. He has demonstrated over the years his commitment to the communities he serves and I can’t think of anyone better to serve as mayor.”

Cllr Lomax said: “It is a great privilege and provides a unique opportunity to see and support charity organizations. One of most important roles of the mayor is to bestow on these organisations the recognition of High Peak Borough Council.”
