THE leader of High Peak Borough Council has published the first in as series of regular online blogs to keep residents up to date on important community issues.

In her first blog Caitlin Bisknell looks at the recent reopening of Buxton Swimming Pool and the completion of major improvements to Glossop and New Mills Leisure Centres.

“Publishing the blog shows that I’m determined to make good my election pledge to reach out to our communities by making the best use of consultation and communications,” said Cllr Bisknell.

“I’m also looking at plans to introduce webcasting of some of our meetings so that people can watch from the comfort of their own home as important decisions are made.

“And I want the council to make more use of social media to consult people on our plans – so watch this space.

“These developments underline our commitment to making ourselves more accessible – not just online but also through more traditional consultations such as surveys and meetings.
