THE RE-DEDICATION of Chapel-en-le-Frith’s War Memorial took place on Friday.

The service was conducted by local clergy and followed extensive restoration work which included the addition of the names of those who lost their lives during the Second World War.

High Peak MP Andrew Bingham and High Peak Mayor David Lomax joined the Lord Lieutenant William Tucker, members of Chapel Parish Council, pupils from Chapel High School, representatives from the Royal British Legion and local residents for the re-dedication service which was followed by the unveiling of a plaque.

Wreaths were also laid by the Parish Council chairman Cllr Mike Harrison, the Lord Lieutenant and the Royal British Legion.
